Set up your connection

Connect Make to PostOnce

Install the app by invitation and save your key in a Make connection.

    Install PostOnce in your Make organization

    Open the app invitation while signed in to Make and install PostOnce in the organization where you will build your scenario. The invitation exposes Create a draft and Get a draft.

    This is an unapproved custom app shared by invitation. Installing it does not activate a scenario.

    Save a dedicated API key

    Create a PostOnce key with accounts:read for the connection test and posts:write plus posts:read for drafts.

    In a PostOnce module, create a connection and paste the key into its private API Key field. Keep it out of feed data, scenario fields and shared blueprints. An empty social account list is valid; this first draft needs no destinations.

    Run once and inspect your draft

    Run once with one feed item. Pass the ID returned by Create a draft into Get a draft, then open your PostOnce drafts to review the saved text. An inbox status means saved for review, not published.

    Keep scheduling off while testing. Enable it only after checking your feed, field mapping and saved draft.

Import the RSS draft blueprint

Download the JSON, open a new Make scenario and choose Import blueprint from its menu. Install PostOnce using the invitation first, then select your own connection in both PostOnce modules. Set scheduling to on demand explicitly; importing a blueprint does not establish its scheduling state.

The example uses PostOnce’s public changelog feed and retrieves one item. Replace the feed URL and choose a distinct fixed source-key prefix before using your own feed. Review the mapped text, then Run once and inspect Get a draft.

    Choose a feed item

    Use Retrieve RSS feed items with your feed URL and a one-item limit. This action can return the same latest item on another run.

    Save a reviewable draft

    Map the stable source event key and the item’s title plus article link. Leave destination accounts and media empty.

    Check the saved result

    Map the actual ID from Create a draft. Check the inbox status and review the text in PostOnce before publishing.

Retry unchanged input with the same key. If the result is uncertain, inspect the earlier draft; do not generate a new key to bypass a conflict. Changed content with the same key needs investigation. Rotating the API key changes deduplication scope, so check existing drafts before replaying old feed items.

Questions before connecting

Is PostOnce approved by Make?

The app is published for installation by invitation and remains unapproved. Directory review is separate from this working draft setup.

Will the scenario publish to social accounts?

These two modules create and read drafts. They do not publish. Review the draft in PostOnce before selecting destinations or scheduling a post.

Which operations can I use?

The customer invitation currently exposes Create a draft and Get a draft. Other operations are not part of this setup.

How do I disconnect?

Turn off scenarios using the connection, remove that connection in Make and revoke its dedicated API key in PostOnce Preferences. Preserve unrelated connections and keys.
