You can't post to Threads, Bluesky and X at the same time from any of the three apps, so you need a cross-posting tool. PostOnce and MicroPoster copy each new post to the other apps automatically; Buffer, Fedica and Publer let you write once and publish to all three. For Mastodon only, Threads' fediverse sharing and Bridgy Fed are free.

Can you cross-post to Threads and Bluesky at the same time?
You can't cross-post to Threads and Bluesky at the same time from the apps themselves. Threads shares posts only to Mastodon and the fediverse, not to Bluesky or X, and Bluesky has no setting that posts elsewhere. A cross-posting tool fills the gap in one of 2 ways:
- Copy each new post automatically. You keep posting in the app you like. The tool sees each new post and publishes it to the others. PostOnce and MicroPoster work this way.
- Write once in a dashboard. You write the post in the tool, tick X, Threads and Bluesky, and publish. Buffer, Fedica, Publer, Postiz and SocialBee work this way.

1. PostOnce: best for copying every new post automatically

PostOnce copies each new post from the app you use to your other accounts. Tweet as usual and it appears on Threads and Bluesky; post on Threads and it goes to Bluesky and X. It runs in the cloud, so there's no script or browser extension to keep running.
Here's how it handles the differences between the three apps:
- Character limits: Threads allows 500 characters, so most tweets post as they are. Bluesky allows 300; longer posts are cut at 300, or turn on Rewrite caption with AI to shorten them into one or two clean sentences.
- Links and mentions: X's t.co short links are swapped for the real URL. Links and hashtags become clickable on Bluesky. @mentions of X handles post as plain text, and Threads @handles become Bluesky mentions when the handle exists there.
- Photos and video: up to 4 photos go to Bluesky, and a tweet with 2 to 4 photos becomes a carousel on Threads. Videos post natively, within each app's length limit.
- What gets copied: only your own new posts. Replies and reposts stay where they are, quote posts are optional, and a thread posts its first post.
- Filters and older posts: send only posts with a hashtag or keyword, or skip them. Turn on existing posts to send your older posts too.
- Sign-in: Bluesky uses your handle and an App Password, never your main password.
- Price: Creator costs about $0.79 a day billed yearly ($290/year), or $29 month to month, for 15 accounts and unlimited posts. Try it free for 7 days with up to 10 posts and no card.
Routes: X to Bluesky, X to Threads, Threads to Bluesky, Bluesky to Threads, Threads to X and Instagram to Threads.
Choose PostOnce if you want to keep posting in one app and have the others follow on their own, including photos, videos and Instagram or TikTok content.
2. MicroPoster: best for mirroring text posts between apps
MicroPoster also copies new posts automatically. You keep posting in your usual app, and it copies each new post to your other accounts. It covers X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon, with LinkedIn as a destination, and checks for new posts every 30 minutes.
Creator is $12 a month for 4 accounts and 200 crossposts, with a 7-day trial and no card.
Choose MicroPoster if X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon are your main networks.
Every new X post, on Bluesky too.Connect once. PostOnce copies each new post for you.See how →Posts PostOnce copied from X to Bluesky in the last 30 days.

3. Buffer: best for writing once with per-network counters
Buffer lets you write one post and adjust it for each network, with a separate character counter for Threads (500), Bluesky (300) and X (280). Its thread builder can split a longer post into a thread on X, Threads, Mastodon and Bluesky.
The free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Paid plans start at $5 per channel per month.
Choose Buffer if you post to a few channels and want a simple queue.
4. Fedica: best for the fediverse
Fedica publishes to X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn, plus fediverse apps such as Pixelfed and PeerTube. Threads are supported on every plan.
The free plan covers 12 accounts (one per network) with 10 scheduled posts at a time. Publish is $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly.
Choose Fedica if Mastodon and other fediverse apps matter as much as Threads and Bluesky.
5. Publer: best for the same thread on four networks
Publer has a Threads Composer that schedules the same thread across X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon from one editor. It also publishes to LinkedIn and many other networks.
Paid plans are priced per social account. The free plan covers 3 accounts, with 10 scheduled posts per account.
Choose Publer if you write long threads and want them on all four networks.
6. Postiz: best open-source option
Postiz publishes to X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn and more. You can use the hosted version or run it on your own server.
Standard is $29 a month ($23 a month billed yearly) for 5 channels, with a 7-day trial.
Choose Postiz if you want to self-host your posting tool.
7. SocialBee: best for recycling evergreen posts
SocialBee sorts posts into categories and fills a schedule from each one. It posts directly to Threads, Bluesky, X and LinkedIn, and to Mastodon through its mobile app.
Bootstrap is $29 a month ($24 a month billed yearly) for 5 profiles, with a 14-day trial and no card.
Choose SocialBee if you want a steady mix of evergreen posts on every network.
Is there a free way to cross-post Threads and Bluesky?
Free ways to cross-post Threads and Bluesky are limited. Postiz is open source, so you can host it yourself at no cost. Threads' fediverse sharing and Bridgy Fed are 2 free ways to reach Mastodon, but neither copies posts between Threads, Bluesky and X.
If Mastodon is the main extra audience you want, two free options exist:
- Threads fediverse sharing. In Threads, open Settings → Fediverse sharing and turn it on. Mastodon users can then follow you and see your posts. It needs a public profile and is for people 18 and over. It reaches Mastodon, not Bluesky or X.
- Bridgy Fed. A free, opt-in bridge between Bluesky and the fediverse. Mastodon users can follow your Bluesky account, and Bluesky users can follow Mastodon accounts. It bridges your one account rather than copying posts into a second account.
To reach Threads, Bluesky and X all at once, you still need one of the tools above.

- Post as usual, and check the first copy on each app.
Frequently asked questions
How do I post to X, Threads and Bluesky at the same time?
Use a cross-posting tool. With PostOnce you keep posting on X and each new tweet appears on Threads and Bluesky. With Buffer, Fedica or Publer you write the post once and choose all three.
Can I automatically cross-post from Threads to Bluesky?
Yes. PostOnce checks Threads every few minutes and posts each new Threads post to Bluesky, with its photos or video. See Threads to Bluesky.
What happens to posts longer than 300 characters on Bluesky?
Bluesky allows 300 characters. PostOnce cuts longer posts at 300, or shortens them with AI if you turn on Rewrite caption with AI. It never turns one post into a Bluesky reply chain.
Is there a free way to cross-post to Bluesky?
Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels and Fedica's covers one account per network. Bridgy Fed is free but connects Bluesky to Mastodon, not to Threads or X. PostOnce has a 7-day trial with up to 10 posts and no card.
Does cross-posting move my followers?
No. These tools copy your posts, not your followers. Each app's audience follows you separately.
